install on this mopar CAI was done in my garage by myself. did this all with hand tools but it was some what easy. the toughest part was lining up the CAI tube with the tb boot and making sure it did not rub. after three times of twisting the boot then twisting the tube it was a success. the air box is metal and would have been simple if i had another hand but i did get it in and installed. i did not install the ram air at home i took it into work and there was some mod needed an cut here and cut there but it lines up great and we will see how she runs. as for now the loud bbuuuwww sound from when you stand on the gas is cool.

the install took about 2 1/2 to 3 hours with hand tools and i was doing honey dues in between. there use to be a blue mopar M on the tube but the guys at mopar must have been standing on there head when they installed that. yes it was upside down...lol...so i figured i would put my own touch with a few different emblems.

next up headers and cat back....:burnout:

Now you gotta change the "bone stock" in your sig Pat. I gotta order some stuff from you tomorrow, so I'll be giving you a call.

Patrick wash that nasty truck guy. Thats bad bro, you may need to use that weed wacker on it lol, nice install though

WILDMAN

It looks great. I decided on the Volant because of price and I didn't want to remove the hood insulation. The install does look good though. I like it.

Wade

oh i did not tell you i did need the weed eater for the install of the CAI.....lol just kidding. ya i will have to change the bone stock, thanks for the reminder on that.

nice pics....is the idea that the venting from the scoop routes air to the area where the air filter is? That is teh biggest intake I've seen besides on a huge desil yacht engine!

yes that is correct, the ram air is to route cooler outside air from the hood scoop to the air box.

dragon....when you going to install that MOPAR PCM???? I'll be curious to see your results!!! Do you have any specs on it as to how many degrees the timing is advanced over stock? I'm trying to see for when I dyno the truck w/ NOS where the A/F is and how much I may be able to advance the timing from there. I have a feeling my truck is PIG RICH just by the smell and black exhaust tips!!

looks good brotha...I knew it wouldnt be long till you got the mod fever. The CAI should be in for me today, so if I need pointers Ill call ya. But, if not Ill follow with m own pics. Is that emblem something you cooked up on the hood? Looks sweet

as for the mopar PCM i do have it but i would like to get the cam and headers installed on this before i install it.

ya the hood emblem is an idea i got from devildog on his ride he has a plate installed there. what so you think of that. call any time i will help as much as i can.

Well, at least them guys that stick stickers on at Mopar are consistent, every one of these I've seen had the sticker stuck on upside down...I too love the sound though... :burnout: Nice DIY thread Patrick!
