Track day went well, it was my first time this year. Temperature hovered ri ght around 80 all day, but my best run was earlier on when it was in the mid 70's. Had consecutive 12.8's and pulled out a 12.71 for my best run! I'll try to get some pics or video up... this may take a minute! Lol

Also my best trap speed of the day was 109.24 but only ran a 12.85, also had a 12.80 @ 109.1..... My 60' was obviously not as good as my 12.7 run. Towards the end of the day I was getting a bad vibration at high speeds creating drag in the drivetrain. Luckily it wasn't anything bad, come to find out my rear calipers were shaving my wheel weights ever so slightly, so by the end of the day my DR's were out of balance!

Thanks guys! I went down to 17.5lbs, still having trouble launching. I either launched to low ( no spin but then fell over on my face ) or launched with too much rpm and spun ( which was actually my best launch/run ). I really think I'm going to shed my tonneau next time I go. I know its weight off the rear wheels but its an extra 120 or so lbs. that needs to go, I still feel like Im trying to launch a battleship!!!

Congrats bro! Each 1/10th shed feels so awesome doesn't it? Look forward to your vids too bud. :D

It does bro! LB's may be in my near future!!! The UD pulley helped contribute to those tenths, thanks again Scott!

Sorry... LB's as in long bars, not pounds. Just to clear that up!

Well I just watched the videos for the first time, they came out great but there's only about 3/4 of my 12.7 run, my girl missed my launch but atleast it's got me going through the traps with a nice clear shot of board! A couple of my other runs look awesome, now I just need to figure out how to get my videos on here... I'm a bit of a Flintstone.....

What size and make of Drag radials? For sake of discussion I will assume the 390-40-17 M&H's. Here are a couple of tips to lower that 60' time. Get a Hurst Line Lock, it makes the burnout so much easier, and saves on rear end abuse (saves spiders, etc.). Keep air pressure at between 16.5 and 17.5lbs, no lower. Check tire pressure before each run. Let the truck cool a minimum of 30 minutes between runs, 45+ is even better. When ready to make a run, be sure to drive around the water box (don't get the front tires wet) then back into the water. Pull forward slightly, set the brakes, hold the Line Lock, put in 2nd gear, holding the line lock, rev to about 4,000 rpm and dump the clutch, hold the revs at about 5,000-5,500 for a count of 5 seconds, release the line lock, roll forward, put in 1st gear and do a small dry hop (tightens everything in the rear). Stage, and hold revs at between 3,500 and 3,800 for the best launch, smooth off the clutch and smooth down on the throttle....enjoy. 60' time should drop into the 1.70's and ET's will drop into the 12.30's-12.40's. Also remember 100lbs equals 1/10th. Bedcover-120 lbs, tailgate-60lbs, spare tire-90lbs, passenger seat-47 lbs (manual 04, but you'll have to cut the bracket to make it easy), sub-woofer 14 lbs, package tray-10.5 lbs, floormats, wipers another 5lbs.....and its all easy to put back...so no one will know.....that's nearly 350 lbs , so you're looking at a 12.0, with good conditions and track prep.

I already have most small things removed and spare is out although I have not yet removed tonneau, tailgate, tray behind seats, or wipers but hopefully I can get back in October. Thanks Trainman!

Question.. Does SCT tuner come with a 2 step option? Or any other tuner program for these trucks. Very nice 1/4 mile times Stealth78,Trainman.

What do you mean 2 step? Do you mean different tunes? They hold 3 separate tunes.
